John M. Hope, KC (1943-2022)

The lawyers and staff of Duncan Craig LLP lost a loved and revered colleague, mentor and friend, John M. Hope, KC, on December 28, 2022. Mr. Hope was a pillar of Duncan Craig LLP, steadfastly serving the firm and innumerable clients since 1968 when he was called to the Alberta Bar.

Mr. Hope will be remembered as a dynamic and strategic advisor with an ever-sharp wit. In his 53 years of practice, he contributed greatly to the growth and education of generations of lawyers and was well respected by all in the legal community. He will be remembered as a “lawyer’s lawyer” with an exceptional ability to parse through any matter before him.
