Eric Benkendorf

Eric Benkendorf is an associate in the Business Solutions, Financial Services, and Real Estate practice groups. His practice involves all corporate and commercial matters, including commercial transactions, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, and leasing.

Eric graduated from the University of Alberta Faculty of Law in 2025. During his time at the U of A, he volunteered with the Student Legal Services Criminal Project and participated in various student-led initiatives within the law school community.

In Eric's Own Words:

Prior to practicing law, I worked several jobs, including at a distillery, as a construction labourer, scaler at a trucking terminal, landscaper, bricklayer's helper, grounds staff member at the International Airport, insurance adjuster and at a financial institution. These experiences taught me invaluable lessons about the importance of hard work and discipline and gave me the opportunity to learn about different industries. Most importantly, they taught me the value of getting to know people and understanding what is important to them, which continues to shape how I work with my clients today.

I value the opportunity to help people work through problems and make good decisions about what comes next in their business or life. I take my work seriously without taking myself too seriously, and I want my clients to feel comfortable calling me when they need advice. Whatever the issue, they can expect me to be responsive, work hard on their behalf and give them clear, practical advice about the best way forward.

In his free time, Eric enjoys watching the Oilers, Eagles and Bluejays, playing (and wishing he was better at) golf, and spending time with his friends and family.
