Georgia-Rae Meldrum

Georgia-Rae Meldrum is an associate who advises clients on Indigenous law solicitor matters and represents clients in insurance and commercial litigation.

Georgia-Rae obtained her Bachelor of Arts (with Distinction) in 2021 and her Juris Doctor in 2025, earning both degrees at the University of Alberta. She was awarded The McGarvey Memorial Award in Law, which is granted annually to a student who has overcome significant life challenges in order to attend law school. Throughout law school, Georgia-Rae volunteered with Student Legal Services Criminal Law Project, and Edmonton Cold Weather Rescue, an animal welfare organization.

Georgia-Rae joined the firm as a summer student in 2023 and started articling with the firm in September 2025. She was called to the bar in August 2026 and is now an associate practicing as a solicitor and a litigator.

In Georgia-Rae's Own Words:

I take immense pride in my role as a lawyer because I have the opportunity to help clients navigate complex legal issues and develop practical, strategic solutions. Whether I am guiding clients through disputes or assisting Indigenous individuals, businesses, and organizations with commercial matters, I am passionate about advancing Indigenous interests while protecting and promoting culture, heritage, and self-governance.

I have always been a law nerd at heart. The law is constantly evolving, and I believe there is always more to learn. I genuinely enjoy tackling the complex legal questions that arise in my practice and finding thoughtful, practical answers that help my clients move forward with confidence. For me, the most rewarding part of practicing law is building trusted relationships with clients and helping them achieve meaningful, lasting outcomes.

Outside of her practice, Georgia-Rae enjoys weightlifting, cooking, and spending quality time with her loved ones. She is also passionate about advocating for individuals and communities whose voices have historically been underrepresented. As a woman, she understands the importance of having strong voices and advocates and hopes to help empower women and members of the 2SLGBTQ+ community.
