Karyna Omelchenko is an associate within Duncan Craig LLP and practices in the Financial Services and Banking, Litigation, and Family Solutions groups.

In Karyna's Own Words:

My goal is to simplify and ultimately resolve your problem. I am a great communicator with a great sense of humor, which I believe helps everyone relax while receiving professional help."

Karyna graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science (with Distinction) in 2016. In June 2022, she obtained her Juris Doctor (with Distinction).

During law school, Karyna volunteered with Student Legal Services and the Edmonton Community Legal Centre, assisting low-income individuals and families. She interned at the Edmonton Community Legal Centre as part of the "Low-Income Individuals and the Law" course. Karyna was also involved in the Alberta Law Review and the Digital Law and Innovation Society. She received the Faculty of Law Undergraduate Scholarship and the Halyna Chomiak Freeland Memorial Award for her academic achievements and community involvement. Karyna also made the Dean’s List (awarded to top 10% students) in 2021. Karyna was called to the Alberta Bar in 2023.

Karyna's notable accomplishment during law school was winning the 2021 Iron Tech Lawyers Invitational by Georgetown Law for developing an application that improves access to justice.

Karyna completed part of her articles with the Court of King's Bench, working closely with Justices to gain insight into the justice system and enhance her research and writing skills.

Karyna was born in Ukraine and moved to Canada at the age of 16. She is fluent in Ukrainian and Russian. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and corgi, cooking various Asian cuisines, listening to podcasts, practicing hot yoga, and hiking.
