Gil Miciak is an associate within Duncan Craig LLP’s Litigation and Financial Services practice groups, with a focus on civil litigation, foreclosures, and insolvency.
Gil received his Bachelor of Fine Arts (with Distinction) from the University of Alberta in 2013. He completed his Juris Doctor at the University of Alberta in 2019 (with Distinction) and is proud of his achievements of being awarded the Louise McKinney Scholarship (awarded top 1.5-2% of students), the Professor Trevor Anderson Prize in Jurisprudence in 2018, the Norman J Pollock, QC Prize in Advocacy in 2019 and making the Dean’s List (top 10%) in 2018. Gil was called to the Alberta Bar in 2020.
Gil articled with the Courts, providing research and drafting for judges in central and northern Alberta. He has conducted many trials and appeals across Alberta, and was lead counsel on an application for leave to appeal at the Supreme Court of Canada.
As a self-described theatre guy, Gil was involved on various boards including the Freewill Shakespeare Festival and the Catalyst Theatre. He is a born and raised Edmontonian and shares his life with his partner while enjoying playing board games, listening to talk radio, and fixing up their home.
